Rebates and Payment Policies

Mental Health Care Plan

Visit your GP and request a Mental Health Care Plan. This plan allows you to receive 10 Medicare rebates over 10 sessions in a calendar year. Please request a long consultation with your GP as the preparation of a Mental Health Care Plan can take up to 30-40 minutes. Clients are also encouraged to register for the Medicare Safety Net.

Bulk Billing

W.A.G. Therapeutic Service is committed to making psychology services accessible to all and offers a limited number of bulk bill sessions, outside of peak times, for financially disadvantaged clients. Please contact W.A.G. Therapeutic Service for details.

Medicare - Chronic Disease Management Initiative

This referral option is available for people who experience a chronic medical condition for a minimum of 6 months or more. It allows for 5 sessions with an allied health professional.

Private Health Fund

Check with your private health fund provider as they may offer rebates for Psychological Services under “Extras”.

National Disability Insurance Scheme
National Disability Insurance Scheme

W.A.G. Therapeutic Service is a registered NDIS provider supporting those with a permanent and significant disability.  Those with an NDIS plan may be eligible for rebates.

Department of Veterans' Affairs

W.A.G. Therapeutic Service is committed to supporting veterans and former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), and their families.  Those who hold a Gold or White DVA Health Card are eligible for bulk billed sessions.

Cancellation Policy

We recognise that there are circumstances beyond the control of clients that may lead to an appointment being missed or cancelled with short notice. However, in order for us to continue to operate a supportive service, it is necessary to charge a fee for all missed appointments and short notice cancellations, regardless of the reason for not attending the appointment.

 

If you are unable to attend an appointment, it is essential that you contact us as soon as possible to advise you will not be attending. Efforts will be made to reschedule your appointment in a timely manner however, the cancellation fee for the missed or cancelled appointment will still apply.

 

Unfortunately, we are unable to fill cancelled appointments at short notice. To avoid cancellation or re-schedule fees, we require 48 hours notice prior to your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged at 100% of the consult amount; within 48 hours will be charged 50% of the amount.

 

As a courtesy, we send text reminders to clients 2 days prior to their scheduled appointment. However, it is the client’s responsibility for keeping track of appointments and for notifying us of a need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. As such, a cancellation fee will apply if we do not receive 48 hours notice, regardless of whether or not our text reminders are received. Please note that Medicare and Private Health funds do not rebate for missed or cancelled appointments.
